The Varaible is designed by Dirk Pinkerton in collaboration with Kizer Knives and is the first of two neck knives by Dirk that they have made. The unique design of the Variable calls for a unique grip that is half on the handle and half on the steel but still remains secure. The knife blade is made from durable D2 with a stonewashed finish that is great for daily use knives and the Wharncliffe design is great for quick tasks like box opening. The large hole in the middle of the knife is paramount to gripping it and the design of the Kydex sheath allows you to still access it. This allows you to grab and go with the knife which makes it even more suited to EDC use. The handles are made from slip-resistant Micarta and seat firmly in your palm when correctly holding the knife. The Variable is definitely the more unique looking of the two new neck knives from Dirk and Kizer but both or more than ready to perform as your EDC.
